Skoda Auto Volkswagen India voluntarily recalled 47,235 units of its mass-market vehicles-Skoda Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia and Volkswagen's Taigun, Virtus-manufactured during May 24, 2024, to April 1, 2025. The recall remedies a critical safety flaw in the rear seatbelt assemblies where the buckle latch plate will probably malfunction during a frontal collision. In addition, rear centre seatbelt webbing and rear right buckle can also become inoperative with severe effects to passengers.

Affected owners will be personally contacted by authorized dealerships for free inspection and replacement of the faulty parts. Additionally, customers may verify whether their vehicle is involved in the recall by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the websites of Skoda and Volkswagen. Both companies demonstrate their commitment to safety and quality with swift action in progress.
