While India is celebrating Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) on June 7, 2025, banking in the entire nation will be impacted, with numerous closures in various regions. State-wise holidays have been assigned by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), so that customers are kept aware of banking hours.
Major Holiday Notifications and Regional Closures
The banks will be closed on June 7, 2025, in key cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Jaipur.
Exceptions: Banks will continue to be open in Ahmedabad, Gangtok, and Itanagar since June 7 coincides with the first Saturday of the month that is not a scheduled bank holiday.
Kerala celebrated Bakrid on June 6, and therefore, banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram were closed one day in advance.
Banking Services and Digital Accessibility
Online banking, UPI transactions, and ATM withdrawals will continue unabated, providing seamless financial services.
