Bank of Baroda, one of India's premier public sector banks, inaugurated its new Zonal Office in Raipur, reaffirming its commitment towards the economic growth and financial inclusion of Chhattisgarh. The e-inauguration, which took place on July 14, 2025, was attended by prominent dignitaries such as M. Nagaraju, IAS, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, and Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Baroda.
Strategic Significance of the New Zonal Office
The Raipur Zonal Office will be the administrative and operational headquarters for the whole state, with the objective of enhancing customer reach and regional penetration.
Through this expansion, the bank aims to spur credit growth, especially for local businessmen, farmers, women's self-help groups, and the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector.
Chhattisgarh's abundant mineral and agrarian wealth were pointed out as sectors where untapped potential lies, in which Bank of Baroda aims to direct focused financial products and advisory services.
Service Reach and Infrastructure
The state is already being catered to by more than 1,600 Bank of Baroda staff members across 212 offices and four regional offices—approximately 66% of which are in rural and semi-urban locations, highlighting the bank's focus on inclusive banking.
The latest zonal hub will align efforts to optimize operations, enhance customer service, and facilitate timely delivery of social sector and credit programs.

Leadership declarations highlighted a commitment to decentralization, speedy decision-making, and personalized services as drivers of local development.
