In a stunning turn of events that left everyone silent, the 2001 movie "Style" turned into Bollywood's biggest underdog tale. Produced for a budget that could hardly pay for a hairdo of a Bollywood celebrity (Rs 2.5 crore), this film starring newcomers Sharman Joshi and Sahil Khan amassed a staggering Rs 8.84 crore! In spite of critics giving it the cold shoulder, "Style" succeeded in doing what a large number of big-budget releases could not – it turned into a huge success without featuring any prominent names. Talk about style over substance, indeed. It is a reflection of the strength of good storytelling and the unpredictability of Bollywood.
