Books, Boots & Big Screens: Glasgow’s New Club Steps Up Storytelling!

Glasgow will soon play home to a pioneering new concept that merges literature, outdoor adventure, and cinema. Launching this summer, The New Book Club, But With Boots and a Big Screen invites book lovers to hike along nature trails while indulging in stories on massive outdoor screens. The walkers will wander along scenic trails around the city, prior to gathering for immersive film screenings of the books they've been reading.

 

Organizers of the venture say that the initiative is aimed at uniting physical exercise, communal unity, and cultural enrichment in a new way of reading beyond the pages. The first of these events will utilize a classic Scottish book translated into an entertaining cinematic format, with subsequent months focusing on various genres and locations.

 

The new book club aims to turn reading into an adventure, something appropriate to Glasgow's energetic, active community.
