Rohan Bopanna and Adam Pavlasek’s spirited journey at the French Open 2025 came to a close on Sunday as the Indo-Czech pair fell in the men’s doubles pre-quarterfinals. Facing the formidable second-seeded duo of Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara, Bopanna and Pavlasek started on the back foot and couldn’t recover, losing 2-6, 6-7(5) in just over an hour.

Key Highlights:

Patten and Heliovaara broke serve early, taking control of the first set and never letting up. Bopanna and Pavlasek fought hard in the second, holding serve throughout and forcing a tie-break, but the British-Finnish pair held their nerve to clinch the match.

The defeat ends a promising run for Bopanna and Pavlasek, who had previously upset the 13th seeds to reach the third round.

India’s hopes at Roland Garros were dashed further as Yuki Bhambri and his American partner Robert Galloway also exited in the pre-quarters, falling 4-6, 4-6 to the ninth-seeded American team of Christian Harrison and Evan King.

Earlier, N. Sriram Balaji and Rithvik Bollipalli had also bowed out, marking a complete end to India’s men’s doubles campaign at this year’s French Open.

This year’s tournament saw flashes of brilliance from the Indian contingent, but ultimately, the challenge fizzled out before the quarterfinal stage. Fans will now look ahead to Wimbledon, hoping for a deeper run on the grass courts.
