‘Border 2’ Back on Track: Varun Drops BTS Glimpse as Diljit’s Ban Gets Temporary Reprieve

Varun Dhawan has reignited excitement for the much-anticipated war drama ‘Border 2’ by sharing gritty behind-the-scenes glimpses from the film’s shoot, just as co-star Diljit Dosanjh received a temporary reprieve from an industry ban. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had earlier issued a non-cooperation directive against Diljit over his collaboration with a Pakistani actor in Sardaar Ji . However, following a personal appeal by producer Bhushan Kumar, the ban has been lifted exclusively for this project.

 

Varun’s Instagram stories featured mud-covered hands—his and co-star Ahan Shetty’s—symbolizing the raw intensity of the film’s patriotic theme. Meanwhile, Diljit confirmed his continued involvement by posting a BTS video in uniform, quashing rumors of his replacement.

 

Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by JP Dutta, T-Series, and JP Films, Border 2is slated for a January 23, 2026 release and stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
