In a first-of-its-kind move that combines hops and high technology, Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. has approved an enormous investment of as much as ₹8,000 crore to develop a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, India. It's the company's largest digital and business services center in the Asia-Pacific region.

What's Brewing in Hyderabad?
The new GCC will become a digital nerve hub for Heineken's worldwide business, focusing on:
  • AI-driven decision-making
  • Data analysis
  • Supply chain optimization
  • Cybersecurity and ERP platforms
Real-time market insights
The unit will create 2,500–3,000 high-tech positions, such as software engineers, cloud architects, and automation specialists. The center will be operational by Q4 2025.

Why Hyderabad?
Heineken's entry into Hyderabad underscores the city's growing image as a global tech destination. With rich talent pool, robust infrastructure, and visionary government policies, Hyderabad has already seen heavyweights such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta open offices.

Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu hailed the move as a "strong vote of confidence" in the state's start-up ecosystem.

Strategic Vision
This is not just about digitizing beer. Heineken's GCC will make it possible for the company:
  • Redesign its global supply chain
  • Enhance customer experience platforms
  • Make operational efficiency cross 190+ markets
The investment also fits India's broader push to become a global center for digital transformation and backend operations.
