Italy's Education Minister, Anna Maria Bernini, visited Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh in New Delhi to finalize an MoU to enhance mutual scientific activities. The agreement, signed under the Indo-Italian Executive Programme of Cooperation (EPOC) for 2025–2027, will cover fields of quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and digitalization.
The MoU includes provision for 10 joint research mobility proposals and projects across a broad field of disciplines. Both ministers highlighted past successes, including over 150 joint research collaborations under EPOC frameworks. Cooperation on infectious disease, renewable energy, and cultural heritage preservation technologies was also discussed.
The collaboration is aligned with the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025–2029, launched during the G20 Summit in Brazil, strengthening India-Italy cooperation in science and technology and fostering innovation and academic cooperation.
