Bengaluru’s city officials are taking a hands-on approach to make sure the ongoing survey of Scheduled Caste (SC) households is done thoroughly and accurately. Zonal commissioners from the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) are now spending more time in the field, checking on survey teams and making sure every eligible household is counted.
Here’s what’s happening:
-
Zonal commissioners, like Suralkar Vikas Kishor from the West Zone, are holding regular meetings with survey teams and giving them clear instructions to speed things up.
-
Survey teams are putting stickers on homes once they’ve been counted. This simple step helps everyone see which houses are done and which still need a visit.
-
To double-check their work, surveyors are using data from electricity and water departments. This helps them spot any homes that might have been missed.
-
BBMP is also working with groups like the NSS and NCC to get more people involved and keep the process moving smoothly.
-
The deadline for finishing the survey has been pushed to June 22. People can also go to local BBMP offices or service centers if they haven’t been surveyed yet.
The survey is being done through a mobile app, and teams are collecting details like caste, education, income, and government benefits. They’re also making sure to check documents like Aadhaar and ration cards.
Extra training and a support team have been set up to help surveyors deal with any problems in the field.
All the data is being uploaded instantly, so officials can keep track of progress and quickly fix any issues.
By staying closely involved and using a few practical tricks, BBMP hopes to make sure no one is left out and the data collected is solid.
