Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has reiterated the state government's unflinching commitment to developing strong, sustainable, and reliable infrastructure, terming it a priority for Haryana's development process. Addressing the inauguration of the Standard Operating Methods and Procedures (SOMPs) drawn up by the Quality Assurance Authority in Panchkula, Saini asserted that these guidelines are not just administrative procedures-they are a vision for quality, durable infrastructure and good governance.

Saini also pointed out that the Quality Assurance Authority, a first-of-its-kind state-level body devoted exclusively to infrastructure quality, is raising the bar. Its model is already making waves with other states and central agencies, hoping it will eventually become a national network for quality assurance. The Chief Minister reemphasized that all construction projects, services, and policies in Haryana need to conform to international standards, in tune with the state's alignment to the Prime Minister's vision for a developed India.

The SOMPs will ensure that priority sectors-roads, bridges, buildings, irrigation, water, sewage, and energy-meet the best possible standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Extension of the Authority's scope to private sector infrastructure projects such as public-private partnerships and industrial parks is planned in order to increase public confidence and investor confidence further. Saini also made a statement regarding the setup of a Research and Development center to foster best practices for Indian construction requirements.
