The Indian stock market commenced trading in a green mode today with the Sensex of the BSE and Nifty50 both in green. At 9:23 AM, Sensex had a gain of 141 points or 0.19% to 74,742.62, whereas the Nifty50 rose 47 points or 0.21% to 22,594.40. Financials and metals stocks drove the gains, whereas auto, building, and IT stocks fell. The market is facing important support at 22,500-22,400, with likely resistance at 22,670-22,720. Market participants are holding back because of global uncertainties like President Trump's tariff policies and ongoing FII selling. Markets in Asia were trading in thin ranges, taking cues from the earnings report by Nvidia and announcements by Trump regarding tariffs. In spite of the optimistic opening, analysts forecast muted market levels until there is clarity on the global trade environment.
