In the heart of Bengaluru's tech hub HSR Layout, a revolution is brewing in silence. A group of Gen Z founders—some no more than 16 years old—have converted a green villa into a bustle of activity, a "Hacker House" where code, creativity, and caffeine fuel India's future crop of startups. Part of Localhost, the initiative, the space has gone viral after Canadian podcaster Caleb Friesen shared a video offering a peek into the raw, high-octane innovation space.

Code, Chaos & Conviction
  • The Hacker House invites 10 young entrepreneurs, 16–26 years old, to live and code together for a month in an expenses-paid adventure.
  • Projects range from AI-powered noise cancellation systems and assistive robots to smart payment terminals and real estate robots.
  • The vibe? Picture Silicon Valley in the good old days—no cubicles, no suits, just laptops, laser intensity, and a Steve Jobs poster on the front door.
Localhost: The Engine Behind the Movement
  • Launched by 18-year-old Suhas Sumukh (India) and 17-year-old Kei Hayashi (Switzerland), Localhost equips young creators with funding, mentorship, travel, and workspace.
  • The goal: empower India's brightest minds to build real-world solutions without waiting for degrees or VC pitches.
Viral Moment, Real Impact
  • The viral clip that began it all shows a developer so engrossed in code he doesn't even look up when Caleb enters. "No handshake… dude is locked in," jokes Caleb.
  • The video has gotten over 1.4 million views, with viewers calling it "super inspiring" and "the definition of hustle."
What's Next?
There is interest pouring into the Localhost from every corner of India, and the same setups are being explored in Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the HSR Layout house remains a symbol of what is possible when ambition meets access—and when Gen Z chooses to create the future from scratch.
