The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has entrusted Capt. Binesh Kumar Tyagi with additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets Ltd (SCILAL), reinforcing his leadership across key maritime entities. The move follows the superannuation of Director (Personnel & Administration) Manjit Singh Saini and aims to ensure continuity in strategic operations.
Leadership Scope And Background
- Capt. Tyagi currently serves as CMD of Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI), Inland & Coastal Shipping Ltd (ICSL), and SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd
- He has also taken on interim responsibility as Director (P&A) of SCI for three months starting February 1, 2025
- With over 34 years in shipping, he has held roles both afloat and ashore, including Master Mariner and Director of Liner & Passenger Services

- Tyagi is a member of multiple national and international maritime committees, including ABS India, DNV GL South Asia, and ClassNK
- He contributes to policy development through roles in the National Centre of Excellence in Green Port and Shipping and the National Shipbuilding Mission
