The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved two significant transactions in the road infrastructure sector. Firstly, the CCI has given the green light for Epic Concesiones 2 Private Limited to acquire 11 Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) owned by Ashoka Concessions and Ashoka Buildcon. This deal, valued at approximately ₹2,324 crore, is expected to conclude by September 30, 2025.
Secondly, the CCI has approved a combination involving Maple Infrastructure Trust, CDPQ Infrastructures Asia, Maple Highways, and 360 ONE Private Equity Fund to acquire certain assets of Ashoka Buildcon. This transaction includes the acquisition of five major toll road projects spanning over 400 kilometers across West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.
These approvals mark significant developments in India's infrastructure sector, potentially reshaping the landscape of road asset ownership and management.
