Celebrating Creativity: WAVES Awards Finalists Announced by ICA and ASIFA India

The Indian Comics Association (ICA) and ASIFA India have unveiled the finalists for the prestigious WAVES Comics Creator Championship and WAVES Awards of Excellence. These competitions, part of the WAVES Create in India Challenge, aim to spotlight India's emerging talent in content creation, intellectual property, and technological innovation. The winners will be announced at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025), scheduled to take place in Mumbai from May 1 to May 4, 2025.

 

The Comics Creator Championship finalists were selected based on their creative storytelling, artistic skills, and overall impact. The professional category features talents like Mohit Sharma from Meerut and Tejas Janardhan Kamble from Mumbai, while the amateur category includes Suvojit Pal from Howrah and Ritesh Patra from Kolkata. The WAVES Awards of Excellence recognizes outstanding contributions to the audio-visual and entertainment sectors, with finalists representing a diverse range of creative disciplines. A five-member jury, including renowned comic artist Dilip Kadam and Amar Chitra Katha CEO Preeti Vyas, will evaluate the entries to determine the winners.

 

This initiative underscores India's potential as a global hub for innovation and creativity in the entertainment industry.
