Ashishkumar Chauhan, CEO of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has encouraged entrepreneurs and startup founders to list their companies on the NSE to achieve billionaire status. Speaking at a recent event, Chauhan highlighted India's vibrant ecosystem, which is teeming with talent and innovation, often requiring minimal capital investment. He noted that around 200 small companies listed on the NSE in 2024 alone, emphasizing that some of these could evolve into future billion-dollar enterprises. Chauhan's optimism is buoyed by India's strong IPO market, which raised a record $19.2 billion in 2024, the highest globally. Despite a slower pace of listings this year, Chauhan remains hopeful for future growth, citing stock valuations returning to near their ten-year averages, which should attract both retail and foreign investors.
