Google has finally released its Gemini AI assistant on Wear OS smartwatches, bringing a new degree of intelligence and convenience to Pixel, Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi devices. The rollout, beginning today, is a giant leap for wearable tech—your smartwatch is now smarter, faster, and more helpful than ever.
Key Highlights
Gemini AI Replaces Google Assistant
Gemini, Google's next-gen AI, now runs Wear OS watches, bringing natural voice chat, more intelligent task management, and deeper app integration. It can comprehend sophisticated requests and provide context-based answers, which makes it a much better Assistant compared to the last one.
Supported Devices & Rollout
The update is supported on Wear OS 4 and above smartwatches including the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 (which is the first to natively support Gemini and Wear OS 6 out of the box), Pixel Watch, Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi smartwatches. Other smartwatches will receive Gemini through a software update in the coming weeks.
Smooth Voice Control & App Integration
Wake up Gemini with "Hey Google," the side button, or the Gemini app. The assistant can answer questions, remind, send messages, summarize email, control music, and get things done with Google and third-party apps—without lifting a finger.
Smart Contextual Awareness
Gemini recalls parking spaces or locker numbers, assists with day-to-day planning, and can communicate with native applications such as Samsung Health, Calendar, and Notes on Wear OS 6 devices.
Search & AI Mode to Circle
Google also updated Circle to Search, which allows users to highlight areas of the screen and get real-time AI-driven answers, further enhancing productivity on the go.
Better Performance & Design
Galaxy Watch 8 series comes with a slimmer, brighter look with improved health monitoring and performance, all powered by Wear OS 6, the new AI-based Wear OS. S
