The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a broad spectrum of red, orange, and yellow alerts in various states as the southwest monsoon gains momentum across the country. After a rainy weekend, Delhi-NCR began the day with overcast skies and fresh showers on June 30, with the IMD forecasting rain and thunderstorms across the week.

Delhi-NCR:
Yellow alert in Southeast Delhi and Southwest Delhi; orange alert elsewhere.
Gusty winds (30–40 kmph) with thunder and moderate rain likely daily.
Waterlogging observed in localities such as Sheikh Sarai and Chirag Delhi.
Northern States:
Red warnings in Uttarakhand (9 districts) and Himachal Pradesh (Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur) for heavy rainfall and threat of landslide.
Himachal districts' schools shut down for safety.
Central & Eastern India:
Heavy rain in Odisha, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, and extremely heavy rain in Jharkhand, until July 4.
Bihar and West Bengal get heavy rain on 29–30 June.
Northeast & South:
Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland are anticipating very heavy rain during July 1–4.
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka to receive widespread showers and gusty winds.
With the monsoon now formally sweeping the country nine days in advance, the IMD is cautioning individuals to be on their guard, especially in areas that have been hit by floods and landslides.
