In a major announcement aimed at supporting Telangana’s agricultural sector, Minister Tummala declared financial aid of ₹10,000 per acre for farmers whose crops were damaged by Cyclone Montha. The decision follows field visits to Khammam and other affected districts, where paddy, maize, and horticultural crops suffered extensive losses.
The state government has initiated procurement of 80 lakh metric tonnes of paddy and 11 lakh metric tonnes of maize to ensure fair prices and reduce market volatility. Additional support measures include livestock aid, housing rehabilitation, and deployment of relief camps in low-lying areas. District officials have been instructed to conduct ground-level assessments and submit detailed damage reports.
