Union Home Minister Amit Shah underscored the Modi government's initiative in integrating and developing the Northeastern states. He pointed to great strides made in connectivity, with all state capitals to be connected by rail, air, and road by 2027. The government has spent a lot on infrastructure, including Rs 90,000 crore on roads and Rs 18,000 crore on railways. Besides, a Rs 2.5 lakh crore investment has been planned with the aim of generating employment opportunities locally, eliminating the necessity of youths to move out of the region. Peace deals have also resulted in the reduction of widespread violence in the area.
