Imperial College London opens its Imperial Global India hub in Bengaluru this May as its fourth global center following Singapore, San Francisco, and Accra. It aims at strengthening UK-India partnerships in science, education, and innovation.
Bengaluru campus will be a liaison office and enable co-created research with the best Indian institutions like IISc, AIIMS, and IITs. It will also act as a bridge connecting industry, policymakers, and academia towards working on global issues like climate change, clean energy, and antimicrobial resistance.
Led by Professor Sanjeev Gupta and Dr. Elena Dieckmann, the centre will leverage strength in areas of groundwater depletion and circular economy innovation. The initiative aligns with India's NEP 2020 and the UK-India Technology Security Initiative to promote sustainable development and economic growth.
