In preparation for Republic Day celebrations, Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) will suspend its flight operations every day from January 19 to January 26, 2025 between 10:20 AM and 12:45 PM in line with security protocols for parade rehearsals and flypast drills.
The congestion is expected to affect over 1,300 flights. Airlines have been advised to reschedule their flights, and travelers are advised to check their flight status before going to the airport. Delhi may face further fog that can affect the flight schedule. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given warnings of a reduced visibility level on many fronts that may increase delays. These are aspects that the passengers should consider when planning their trip and look out for current flight information.
