Delhi Metro is going to introduce urban freight services for the first time in the South Asia Pacific region. In partnership with Blue Dart, cargo will be shipped off-peak hours to declutter roads and lower emission levels. The plan aims to use spare metro capacity, as seen in trends globally, where metro networks use unused space for green logistics. Trials have been initiated on the Blue Line, with an expansion planned across various lines. This new initiative is in line with Delhi Metro's vision to encourage green transport solutions. The project also includes sharing best practices with Madrid Metro, which has a similar pilot project.
