England Clinches Final T20I in Last-Ball Thriller, India Takes Historic Series 3–2

In a nail-biting finish at Edgbaston, England Women edged past India Women by five wickets on the final ball of the fifth T20I, chasing down 168 to end the series on a high. Despite the loss, India secured their first-ever T20I series win against England with a 3–2 margin.

Shafali Verma starred for India with a blistering 75 off 41 balls, hitting 13 boundaries and a six. Her 23-ball fifty was the second-fastest by an Indian woman in T20Is.

India posted 167/7, recovering from early setbacks thanks to Verma’s partnership with Harmanpreet Kaur and late cameos from 
 
Richa Ghosh and Radha Yadav.

England’s chase was powered by a 101-run opening stand between Danni Wyatt-Hodge (56 off 37) and Sophia Dunkley (46 off 30).

Charlie Dean (3/23) was named Player of the Match for her crucial breakthroughs, while Shree Charani earned Player of the Series with 10 wickets.

With six needed off the last over, Arundhati Reddy dismissed Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones, creating a tense finish.

Sophie Ecclestone held her nerve, scoring the winning run off the last ball after Smriti Mandhana missed a run-out chance.
