Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata has officially launched a new DigiYatra facility aimed at revolutionizing domestic air travel. Inaugurated on July 17, 2025, the system leverages facial recognition technology to enable contactless, paperless movement for domestic transfer passengers.
 
PassengerCentric Design:
  • The facility is strategically located near Arrival Baggage Belt No. 1, catering specifically to passengers switching between domestic flights
  • It eliminates the need for physical boarding passes and ID checks, reducing congestion and wait times
Technology Integration:
  • DigiYatra uses biometric authentication to verify passenger identity and travel credentials
  • Once registered via the DigiYatra app, travelers can pass through designated gates using facial recognition alone

  • The system enhances security while streamlining terminal navigation
