Rajasthan is on the verge of rolling out its Film Tourism Promotion Policy 2025, aiming to transform the state into a premier destination for national and international film productions. The policy, finalized by the Tourism Minister and awaiting Cabinet approval, is designed to leverage cinema as a powerful tool for boosting tourism, economic growth, and employment across the state.
Key Highlights:
The new policy will subsidize 30% or more of production costs for films and web series shot in Rajasthan, a significant increase from the previous 15%, making the state highly competitive for filmmakers.
A wide range of incentives and bonuses will be offered to attract both domestic and international productions, including special incentives for those staying in Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) hotels.
The approval and subsidy process will be overseen by a dedicated committee, ensuring that projects align with the state’s tourism and development goals.
The policy encourages filmmakers to feature Rajasthan’s iconic palaces, forts, deserts, and cultural sites prominently, aiming to inspire tourism through on-screen storytelling.
Infrastructure support is included, with incentives for developing film sets and production facilities, further strengthening Rajasthan’s appeal as a filming hub.
The broader vision is to link film production with regional economic growth, tourism development, and job creation, ensuring that local communities benefit directly from increased film activity.
The policy has already generated enthusiasm among producers, with Rajasthan’s unique blend of cultural richness and new financial support poised to attract a diverse array of film projects, from Bollywood blockbusters to international web series.
Once approved, detailed guidelines on application procedures, eligibility, and timelines will be released, setting the stage for Rajasthan’s emergence as India’s leading film tourism destination.
