In a key announcement on Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced that it will be undertaking a nationwide 'Tiranga Yatra' between May 13 and May 23 to celebrate the overwhelming success of Operation Sindoor. The 11-day yatra will involve BJP leaders, ministers, and lakhs of BJP workers touring India's cities and villages, hoisting the national flag and celebrating the victory of Indian forces in the recent armed forces operation against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
Senior BJP leaders, including Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and party president J.P. Nadda, have decided on the schedule of the Yatra, which will strike a chord among the citizens at all levels. The party made it clear that the Yatra will take place on a non-political platform of national pride and the valour of the armed forces and not on outright political communication. Over 10 crore party workers will be accompanying the rallies, ably assisted by local citizens and prominent community leaders.
BJP leader Sambit Patra, at a press briefing, informed that Operation Sindoor was a success with "100 percent success" in terms of destroying nine terrorist camps within a mere 23 minutes in the use of Rafale fighter jets and safeguarding all the Indian pilots deployed. The party also reaffirmed that the campaign aims to enlighten the masses on India's resolute reaction against terrorism and commemorate the unity and strength of the country.
The Tiranga Yatra will conclude with Vijay Diwas-like celebrations, framing the operation as a milestone in the war on terror in India and a marker of the nation's increasing national pride.
