Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged BRICS countries to come together on the moral application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and endorse global norms that align innovation and moral regulation. In the 17th BRICS Summit, PM Modi emphasized the group's collective role in shaping a multipolar world and making AI available to all, particularly the Global South.

Responsible AI Governance:
PM Modi emphasized that BRICS must collectively develop a responsible AI framework to support innovation and security equally. He called for developing global standards to authenticate digital content, promoting transparency, and preventing abuse.
 
AI for All:
India's vision, based on the mantra "AI for All," views AI as a means to augment human capabilities and values. The Prime Minister highlighted applications of AI in India for agriculture, healthcare, education, and governance, and invited BRICS countries to learn the best practices.
 
Global South Perspective:
Modi emphasized inclusive and equitable access to AI, and added that future technologies should not be dominated by any one country. He suggested a BRICS Science and Research Repository in the Global South's interest, and insisted on secure, resilient supply chains for strategic minerals.
 
Future AI Impact Summit:
India will host the "AI Impact Summit" next year, with an open invitation to all BRICS allies to come and work on AI innovation and regulation.
 
BRICS Leaders' Declaration:
The summit saw the signing of a historic world AI governance declaration reiterating the common right of all nations to enjoy the dividends of AI and pledging to improve infrastructure, invest in local talent, and protect citizens from AI dangers.
