In a gesture of solidarity, the Gandhi Global Family (GGF) and its key civil society allies have dispatched the second consignment of vital relief supplies to affected families by recent Pakistani shelling on both sides of the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch.
Major Highlights:
The relief drive has been a team effort of GGF J&K, J&K Ex-Services League, Tawi Welfare Society, and Unnat NGO, reflecting an all-weathered civil society presence.
The consignment includes a mix of essentials:
Juices and biscuits to provide instant nourishment.
Sports kit for children, with a focus to restore the sense of normalcy and smiles.
Sanitary napkins for women, acting to the basic hygienic demand.
Grocery packs and mosquito nets for overall welfare and protection.
The symbolic handover ceremony was attended by the region's who's who, such as Dr. S. P. Varma, Lt. Gen. Rakesh Sharma (Retd.), Neena Abrol, and Dr. Alka Sharma, with the relief officially being taken over by Dr. Nitan Sharma, Regional General Secretary, GGF Jammu.
The event saw involvement from academicians, senior members of GGF, and a major number of volunteers, demonstrating overall community participation.
Special appreciation was extended to Anu Radha Lal, President, GGF Women (Andaman & Nicobar Islands), for the kind contributions from her team.
The relief will be officially handed over to the Poonch and Rajouri District Administrations to provide the much-needed assistance in a timely manner.
This latest report proves once again the unyielding commitment of GGF and its partners to stand by the border communities, not only bringing material relief but also a message of hope and resilience in adversity.
