Goodluck India Ltd has commenced commercial production at its new defence and aerospace facility in Sikandarabad, Uttar Pradesh. Operated by its subsidiary Goodluck Defence & Aerospace Ltd, the plant will manufacture artillery shells and advanced metal components, marking a major milestone in India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities.
Goodluck India Ltd has officially launched commercial production at its newly established defence and aerospace facility in Sikandarabad, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Operated by its subsidiary, Goodluck Defence & Aerospace Ltd, the plant represents a strategic leap in India’s indigenous defence manufacturing ambitions.
Key Highlights:
Facility Launch: The new unit has begun full-scale commercial operations, following successful trial runs earlier this year.
Investment Scale: The facility was developed with an investment of ₹216.50 crore, funded through a mix of equity and debt.
Production Capacity: It is equipped to produce 11,000 metric tonnes of forged and machined metal components annually, including steel, stainless steel, and alloys.
Artillery Shell Manufacturing: The plant holds an industrial licence under the Indian Arms Act, 1959, to manufacture a wide range of artillery shells, including 105mm to 155mm calibres and specialized variants like HE M107 and ERFB BB.
Initial Output: The facility has an initial capacity of 150,000 shells per annum, with plans to scale up production based on demand.
Strategic Collaborations: Goodluck India has entered into a tripartite MoU with BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd and Axiscades Technologies Ltd to support the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.
National Impact: The launch strengthens India’s defence ecosystem, contributing to self-reliance in critical military hardware and boosting exports.
