Green Energy Goes Digital: NTPC and CtrlS Spark India’s Datacenter Sustainability Surge

NTPC Green Energy Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CtrlS Datacenter Limited to jointly explore and develop renewable energy projects with a capacity of 2 GW or more. This collaboration aims to supply round-the-clock renewable power to CtrlS's data centers nationwide, supporting sustainability and energy efficiency goals.

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a key subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has taken a monumental step towards advancing renewable energy integration in India’s digital infrastructure sector. On October 31, 2025, in New Delhi, NGEL inked an MoU with CtrlS Datacenter Limited, marking a commitment to explore the development of renewable energy projects with a target capacity exceeding 2 GW.

The core objective of this partnership is to supply renewable energy round-the-clock (RE RTC) across CtrlS's Pan India data center operations for captive consumption. This is a strategic move aimed at enhancing the sustainability footprint of data-rich operations that demand uninterrupted and reliable power supply.

The signing ceremony was graced by Sarit Maheshwari, CEO of NGEL and NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, and Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and Chairman of CtrlS Datacenter Limited. Both leaders emphasized the importance of fostering green energy solutions in alignment with India’s ambitious climate and energy transition goals.
