The Ambassador of China to India, Xu Feihong, declared a "phase of recovery" for India-China relations after some higher-level discussions. The 23rd Special Representatives' meeting and the Vice Foreign Minister-Foreign Secretary talk in Beijing reached common understandings on border issues and practical cooperation. Xu pointed to mutual respect and to seeing the other's development as an opportunity to advance. It is a positive change following the full troop disengagement in eastern Ladakh and the meeting of Prime Minister Modi with President Xi in Kazan last October. Both nations are now working towards restoring their relationship and resuming dialogue structures.
