In a deeply personal and poetic blog post, Amitabh Bachchan spoke publicly in admiration of son Abhishek Bachchan, calling him his "true inheritor"—not born to him, but earned. The acting legend quoted his own father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, to make the point:
"My sons, just because you are my sons, shall not be my inheritors; they who shall be my inheritors, shall be my sons."

Amitabh showered Abhishek with praise for his risk-taking film roles, dedication to his craft, and risk-taking nature, stating that he has always chosen characters that were challenging. "He undertook the risk of acting and getting noticed," Amitabh wrote, implying that Abhishek has carved out his own niche on the basis of sheer determination, integrity, and artistic courage.

The tribute comes on the back of Abhishek's upcoming release, Kaalidhar Laapata, which hits ZEE5 on July 4. The Madhumita-directed movie is a story of a memory-loss patient who discovers an odd bond with a street-smart child amidst the Maha Kumbh Mela. Amitabh also wished the film good luck, calling Abhishek's ability to slip into diverse roles "a very rare quality."

The sentimental post has gone down very well with people, with fans and fellow actors enjoying the father-son relationship and Abhishek's evolution in Indian cinema.
