Healing Goes High-Tech: UP Launches Round-the-Clock AYUSH Telemedicine, Revolutionizing Access to Traditional Healthcare

Uttar Pradesh is set to introduce a 24x7 AYUSH telemedicine platform, enhancing accessibility to traditional medicine consultations across urban and rural areas. This initiative, under a public-private partnership, will connect patients with specialists remotely, bridging healthcare gaps and advancing India’s digital health mission.

Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to launch a groundbreaking 24x7 AYUSH telemedicine service aimed at revolutionizing healthcare access throughout the state. Announced by the UP Health Department and implemented through collaboration with tech startups and government bodies, this service will enable round-the-clock consultations with AYUSH specialists in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy.

Bridging Healthcare Gaps

This telemedicine platform is designed to connect patients from remote and underserved areas with qualified AYUSH doctors without the need to travel long distances to urban centers. By dividing the state into five clusters and establishing control rooms in key cities, UP aims to deliver continuous medical assistance through digital channels like phone calls and video consultations.

Public-Private Partnership and Infrastructure

The initiative will function as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) wherein healthcare tech firms set up telemedicine kiosks and facilitate consultations.
Community Health Centers (CHCs) across the state are being outfitted with the technology and staff training required for smooth service delivery.
The government has allocated INR 5 crore for the financial year 2025-26 for this ambitious program’s rollout.

Comprehensive Healthcare Access

Specialist AYUSH doctors will provide guidance on patient treatment plans, allowing CHC doctors and staff to receive expert consultation for complex cases. The initiative complements existing digital health missions such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and leverages India’s growing telehealth ecosystem.

This service is expected to significantly uplift health outcomes by promoting preventive care and enabling timely intervention through easy access to traditional medicine expertise.
