Hero MotoCorp has officially hinted at the much-awaited Vida VX2 electric scooter, setting the stage for an unprecedented disruption in India's affordable EV space. The VX2, the affordable version in the Vida line, will be launched in a grand fashion on July 1, 2025, and is poised to make electric mobility affordable for the masses.

Key Highlights

First Official Teaser Out: Hero MotoCorp has released the first teaser of the Vida VX2, revealing its front apron and promising a design inspired by the Vida Z concept.

Launch Date Established: The launch will happen on July 1, 2025, and the VX2 is most likely going to be the inaugural product from Hero's new affordable EV series.

Budget Model: The VX2 would be placed below the current Vida V2, with a lower price segment and an expected starting price likely under ₹70,000, becoming one of the most affordable Hero electric scooters.

Anticipating Multiple Models: The VX2 is anticipated to come in multiple models with varying battery pack capacities from 2.2kWh to 4.4kWh, maybe.

Removable Battery Technology: Unlike some competitors, the VX2 will feature removable battery packs, giving city users more convenience.

Feature Set: Expect a smaller TFT display than the V2, all-LED lighting, physical keyhole for the ignition, switchgear shared with the V2, smartphone integration, and cutting-edge telematics.

Design and Platform: The VX2 copies the Vida Z's contemporary and streamlined design and is based on a new modular platform (ACPD) which is aimed at lowering costs of production and making it more affordable.

Market Positioning: The VX2 will take on entry-level electric scooters such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ola S1 Z, and Ampere Reo.

Hero's EV Drive: The launch is part of Hero's long-term strategy to grow its EV lineup and dealership network, with a target to drive EV growth in India.

With its competitive pricing, functional features, and emphasis on affordability, the Hero Vida VX2 can spearhead the electric scooter revolution in India.
