Himadri Joins Forces with Sicona to Power the Future of Battery Tech

Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd has announced a strategic partnership with Australian startup Sicona Battery Technologies, marking a major step toward advancing next-generation anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The collaboration is expected to accelerate innovation in high-capacity silicon anode technology, enhancing battery performance for electric mobility and renewable energy storage.  

 

Strategic Advancements:  

- Himadri has acquired a 12.79 percent stake in Sicona, reinforcing its commitment to cutting-edge battery materials.  

- Sicona’s silicon-composite anode technology delivers 50 to 100 percent higher capacity than conventional graphite anodes, significantly boosting energy density.  

- The partnership will facilitate the commercial deployment of Sicona’s technology, positioning Himadri as a key player in the evolving battery materials sector.  

- Himadri will have nominee directors on Sicona’s board, fostering close collaboration and knowledge exchange.
