In a touching act of honesty, a Bengaluru taxi driver went out of his way to return a lost phone of a passenger. The incident, posted on Reddit by user 'coldAbhishek', occurred when he left his mobile behind in an offline taxi he took late at night in Hebbal.
When Abhishek discovered his phone missing, he had slim hopes of recovery since he could not track the car. About 15 hours later, however, he got an unexpected alert that his phone had been found. The driver had seen the device, charged it, and activated it.
Once 'Lost Mode' was activated, Abhishek phoned the driver, who explained that he had gone to Mysore for a visit. To his word, the reliable taxi driver returned on the following morning in a bus to the city personally and gave the phone back to him.
Overwhelmed by the kindness of the driver, Abhishek insisted on paying the driver Rs 1,000 as a gesture of appreciation, even when the driver refused at first. The incident soon went viral across social media platforms, with users hailing the cab driver's honesty and faith in humanity.
The incident is a reminder that moments of kindness and integrity are not a lost cause in our fast-paced world, even in the most unlikely places.
