The Ministry of Power has inaugurated a Centre of Excellence for Regulatory Affairs in the Power Sector at IIT Delhi. Jointly established with the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) and Grid Controller of India Ltd. (Grid India), the centre will serve as a national hub for regulatory research, advisory, and capacity building.
India’s power sector has taken a significant step toward strengthening its regulatory framework with the launch of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Regulatory Affairs at IIT Delhi. Inaugurated by Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the initiative is a collaboration between IIT Delhi, CERC, and Grid India.
The centre is designed to address challenges posed by rising electricity demand, large-scale renewable energy integration, expanding power markets, and increasing digitalization. It will act as a knowledge hub, supporting policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders in shaping future-ready frameworks.
