Parade to Continue, Festival & Concert Canceled

Indian Community Outreach (ICO) has announced significant changes to the 2025 India Day Celebration in Naperville, Illinois.

While the India Day Parade will proceed as scheduled on August 10, the Rotary Hill cultural festival and evening concert have been canceled.

The decision comes in response to new security requirements imposed by the city, which have significantly increased event costs.

Security Mandates & Financial Constraints

Naperville’s new public safety measures require full park fencing, metal detectors, a clear bag policy, and additional security personnel.

These requirements have pushed the event’s budget beyond $150,000, making it financially unfeasible for ICO to host the full celebration.

The nonprofit organization, which relies on sponsorships, faced reduced space for sponsors, further limiting fundraising potential.

Community Impact & Future Plans

India Day has been a cornerstone cultural event in Naperville for the past decade, attracting thousands of attendees annually.

ICO is exploring alternative cultural programs later in the year and aims to bring back the full celebration in 2026.

Organizers remain committed to preserving the spirit of India Day, despite this year’s scaled-back format.
