India Dials Up the Future: Bharat 6G Alliance Takes Center Stage

India is making serious efforts to emerge as a world leader in 6G technology by 2030. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has enabled the formation of the Bharat 6G Alliance, an association platform that brings together local industries, academia, and research centers. The alliance will create a systematic action plan in accordance with the Bharat 6G Vision, focusing on affordability, sustainability, and ubiquity. The vision was laid out in a document published by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 23, 2023. The partnership has entered into memoranda of understanding with global partners such as the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association to promote global cooperation and standards for 6G technology. India's ambitious target is not only to develop but also deploy 6G services, putting the nation at the forefront of this next-generation telecom revolution.
