As part of strategic efforts to promote sustainable energy, the Indian government has increased the procurement price of ethanol from C-heavy molasses to ₹57.97 per liter for the supply year 2024-25 from ₹56.58 earlier. This decision was announced by Information Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to help sugarcane farmers and ensure sufficient availability of ethanol in the country to meet the ambitious target of 20% blending by 2025-26. This increase is expected to boost domestic production, reduce crude oil dependency, and contribute positively to the environment.
