India Leads in AI Adoption and Governance: Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized India's leadership in the adoption and governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) during the 6th convocation of IIIT Kottayam. She emphasized India's proactive contribution to developing world AI regulations and its commitment to ethical, inclusive, and reliable AI use. The government launched initiatives like the India AI Mission with a fund of ₹10,300 crore to develop computing infrastructure and generate local AI capacity. Moreover, India co-chaired the recent Paris AI Action Summit along with France.
