India has imposed an up-to-USD-986-per-tonne anti-dumping duty on Trichloro isocyanuric acid, a major water treatment chemical, from China and Japan. The five-year duty is to safeguard domestic manufacturers against cheap imports. The move comes after a thorough probe by Directorate General of Trade Remedies concluded that there was major harm to the local industry. This move is according to India's plan to balance trade and develop indigenous industries while competing under the rules of the WTO.
