India’s Energy Giant Takes the Green Route—110 MW of Solar Now Operational

State-owned power giant NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) has officially commenced commercial operations for 110.25 MW of solar capacity, further strengthening India’s renewable energy portfolio. The newly operational projects are part of NTPC’s commitment to clean energy expansion, contributing to the country’s sustainable power generation goals.
1. Project Overview and Capacity Expansion
The Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan has added 60 MW to its existing capacity, bringing the total operational capacity to 320 MW.
The Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh has commenced operations for 50 MW, contributing to its 220 MW total capacity.
With these additions, NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity now stands at 76,708.18 MW.
