India’s Junior Women’s Hockey Team Geared Up for World Cup Glory
Hockey India has announced the 20-member Indian junior women’s squad for the FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2025, scheduled from November 25 to December 13 in Santiago, Chile. Captain Jyoti Singh, who led the team in the 2023 edition, vows to change the medal color and shine on the global stage.
India is placed in Pool C alongside Germany, Ireland, and Namibia, with the campaign beginning against Namibia on December 1. Following matches against Germany and Ireland on December 3 and 5 respectively, India aims to qualify for the knockout stages.
The team, coached by Tushar Khandker, emphasizes discipline, improved defense, and clinical finishing inside the opponent’s circle. The squad features a balanced mix of experienced players and promising youngsters, including goalkeepers Nidhi and Engil Harsha Rani Minz, staunch defenders Manisha and Sakshi Shukla, and forwards Sonam and Sukhveer Kaur.
