India's smartphone exports reached an unprecedented ₹25,000 crore ($3.14 billion) in January 2025, marking a staggering 140% year-on-year increase. This surge is part of a broader trend, with exports hitting ₹1.55 lakh crore during the April-January period of FY25. The growth is primarily driven by the government's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, with Apple's vendors contributing nearly 70% of total exports. This remarkable achievement solidifies India's position as a global smartphone manufacturing hub, with exports now ranking as the country's second-largest export category.
