Insecticides India Bets Big on Madhya Pradesh, Aims for Rs 200 Crore Yield This Fiscal

Insecticides India, the top agrochemical firm, has a target of doing Rs 200 crore of business in Madhya Pradesh in the ongoing financial year. The company, which has already recorded an Rs 150 crore sales in the state in the ongoing financial year, is relying on the introduction of its new herbicide, 'Torry Super,' to fuel growth in the maize segment.
 
Madhya Pradesh is a huge market for agrochemicals, and total industry sales were worth around Rs 2,000 crore in the last year. Insecticides India's Managing Director, Rajesh Aggarwal, saw the importance of the state because of its huge area of maize cultivation and the company's desire to enhance its market position with new-age products.
 
The launch of 'Torry Super' is likely to enable farmers to increase production of maize, further strengthening the position of Insecticides India in the region. The company's tactical emphasis on Madhya Pradesh is consistent with its long-term strategy of building its presence in major agricultural states of India.
