Instagram Tests Private ‘Dislike’ Button for Comments

Instagram has announced that it is testing a private dislike button for comments on Feed posts and Reels. According to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, this feature will let users show their disapproval of comments without making dislike counts visible or alerting the commenter. The aim is to create a more positive and friendly atmosphere by possibly downranking comments that receive dislikes. At the moment, this feature is being trialed with a limited group of users, and there is no set timeline for a broader release. If it proves successful, it could serve as an effective moderation tool to enhance the quality of comments.
