The Indian government made a bold move by clearing two development schemes worth ₹78.44 crores in Punjab to commemorate the sacrifice of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru. The projects consist of the "Cultural and Heritage Stretch, A Symbol of Peace and Harmony at Hussainiwala Border," to which ₹24.99 crores will be granted, and the "Heritage Street as a Tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh" at Khatkar Kalan, financed with ₹53.45 crores. Union Minister Ravneet Bittu said these projects will serve to save the historical heritage of these martyrs and make Punjab a major cultural tourism hub. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has identified this region as critical to the development of heritage to ensure the work of these iconic individuals is remembered for generations to come.
